Production Associate

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:   An entry level position to be able to build product per operator instructions.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must be able to run, load, clean, assemble and inspect parts per the boundary samples and as described in the operator instructions.

Stamp, label, or otherwise mark product where necessary.

Inspect parts and finished product for defects at all process points and report defect to team leader or supervisor.

If necessary, pack parts per operator instructions.

Generate on-demand labels and applying bin labels when necessary.  

May be required to rotate and learn all jobs in the work cell.

May be required to perform the exercises as part of the exercise program twice per shift   

Must be able to lift 20 - 30 pounds.

Must be a lean “thinker” by helping develop and maintain standards in accordance with Lean Manufacturing principles.

Understands and follows all area and plant ISO 14001 and IATF requirements.

Must be able to process required paperwork, if applicable.

Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following all MIOSHA and company policies and procedures.

Store equipment/product in appropriate manner and location at end of shift.   

Must be able to perform TPM duties when required.

Perform other duties as requested by the shift Supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:   

Maintain a level of productivity determined by the Supervisor.

Must be able to learn all jobs in the work cell.

Attention to detail and quality a must.

Is safety conscientious and understand the safety rules.

Maintain housekeeping/5S philosophy.

Must be able to work overtime.

Must be able to stand the entire shift.

Experience – Entry level

TRAINING: On-the-job training will be provided as needed.

COMPETENCE: An employee is deemed competent after review of operator instructions, on-the-job training, experience and any other documentation deemed appropriate.

RELATIONSHIP:   Reports directly to the Shift Supervisor.

WORKING CONDITIONS:   Conditions adequate for production environment.
